Introduction to DSLR Cameras - Getting to manual mode - 4 Weeks - Feb 20 to March 13

This is for anyone that just got a DSLR or bought one with plans on taking their photography further.

This is a 4 session course, classes once a week from 6pm-8:30pm, beginning on Feb 20th 2019 and ending on March 13th 2019.

If you’ve bought yourself a DSLR and, after unpacking it from the box, you are intimidated by the number of buttons and dials, and by the thickness of the manual, it can be very tempting to put the manual down, flick it onto ‘Auto’ and start shooting. Whilst that is fine for some, it may not be long until you crave the creative control that inspired you to purchase a DSLR in the first place, but where do you begin?

There are some main points to learn before you can master your camera. Auto works, but quite often you can get better results by knowing the capabilities of your camera. In this course you will be able to shoot on full manual by the end.

The course will cover:
Master Shooting modes (including priority modes and full manual)
Understand ISO, Aperature, Shutter Speed
Learn the ‘exposure triangle’
Master Metering including exposure compensation
Learn About Focusing
Learn about Focal Lengths
Prime, Zoom, Macro Lenses
Understand file size/types
Learn about White balance
And anything else you have questions about when working with your camera

The last 15-30 minutes of each session will be reserved for any questions/clarifications that anyone needs. This is so that you have ample time to get your questions answered. "No photographer left behind"

This class will meet at Focus On Studio in Carmel, IN. Focus On Studio is a 3000+ sq foot rental studio that any photographer may rent for their own projects. A professional location, high quality lighting equipment and unique sets/backgrounds make the studio a great place to use. The studio has hosted thousands of photoshoots with local photographers, traveling photographers, models, magazines, product photographers, clothing shops, and jewelry designers.
